Architect
Mind Reader
Memory Designer • Team Builder • Thought Leader
Fred Berthelot is a mind-reading architect.
After earning his Master’s in Architecture Summa Cum Laude from the Savannah College of Art & Design, Fred embarked on a prestigious career in the world of high-end architecture. He worked at Robert A.M. Stern Architects, one of the most respected firms in New York City that has designed landmark projects for Fortune 500 companies, top-tier universities, and even a former U.S. President.
His work spanned across the country and beyond, shaping the landscapes of institutions such as the University of Georgia, Penn State, the University of Pennsylvania, Drake University, Marist College, Villanova, Ohio State, and Acadia. His architectural expertise extended to designing business schools, law schools, medical centers, dormitories, and cutting-edge research facilities. He played a key role in developing entire business districts like the Philadelphia Navy Yard, corporate headquarters such as GlaxoSmithKline, and iconic structures like the Carpe Diem tower outside of Paris in his native France.
But today, Fred no longer draws buildings—he draws thoughts from people’s minds.
From Blueprints to Brainwaves
As a professional mentalist, Fred now applies the same meticulous attention to detail that he once used in designing skyscrapers to crafting unforgettable live performances. He reads audiences like a blueprint, decoding their reactions and constructing experiences that connect, engage, and inspire. His unique background allows him to blend analytical precision with theatrical flair, making every performance feel both astonishing and intellectually captivating.
Major companies such as Johnson & Johnson, Unilever, and Publicis Groupe trust Fred to elevate their events, energize their teams, and reinforce their brand messaging. His performances are more than just entertainment—they are interactive experiences that leave a lasting impact. Whether performing for a team of executives, a conference audience, or an intimate gathering, Fred’s mind-reading demonstrations create powerful moments of surprise, connection, and shared wonder.
A Designer for Corporate Turned Corporate Entertainer
What sets Fred apart from other performers, magicians and mentalists is his deep understanding of the corporate world. With over 25 years of experience in high-stakes architecture, he knows what it takes to bring together complex ideas, manage large-scale projects, lead large teams, coordinate with consultants, and deliver results under pressure and on schedule. His time working alongside engineers, consultants, contractors, and executives sharpened his ability to read people—a skill he now applies in his performances. He literally reads people like a blueprint!
Event planners and corporate clients in New Jersey, NYC and nationwide consistently praise Fred’s professionalism, reliability, and ability to customize his performances to align with company values and themes. His work is not just about astonishment—it’s about crafting moments that enhance teamwork, communication, and engagement.
Award-Winning Mentalist & Educator
Fred’s signature teamwork finale—a mind-blowing demonstration of collective intuition—earned him First Place as Best Mentalist at the 2023 MindVention Mind-Reading Awards, judged by industry legends such as Las Vegas mentalist Banachek, world-renowned mentalist Keith Barry, and corporate mentalism pioneer Richard Osterlind. His talent and reputation have also led him to be featured on NJ-Party.com as New Jersey’s Best Magician and Mentalist.
Beyond performing, Fred is passionate about unlocking the potential of the human mind. He teaches interactive memory workshops, showing participants how to enhance their recall skills, sharpen their thinking, and apply practical memory techniques in everyday life. His programs are especially popular among professionals looking to improve client relationships, as well as educators who want to help students retain information more effectively. As a supporter of public education, Fred offers special versions of his programs to schools and libraries, making high-level mental training accessible to all.
The Man Behind the Mind
Outside of his work, Fred is an avid fan of Sting’s music, a self-professed geek, and an explorer of all things related to human psychology and cognitive science. He lives in Denville, NJ, with his wife, two daughters, and their beloved “doghter” Stella (yes, that’s a dog-daughter!).
